| Sustainable Design from Germany |
The exhibition "German Shades of Green | Sustainable Design from Germany" presented by the the Goethe-Institut Taipei together with the IDZ showed German examples of responsible, sustainable design at 2010's Taiwan Design Expo. The focus of the exhibition lies on the responsibility that designers have: to take the economic, environmental and social aspects of their work into consideration. By means of products, concepts and ideas from Germany, the exhibition shows how sustainability in design can be interpreted, and how design can significantly contribute to sustainable development: through sensible choice of materials, energy efficiency and local, social and fair production, designers can claim their influence on future-oriented products and concepts. The form of presentation too left a lasting impression: The various products and concepts were presented and explained by projections only. In addition, the exhibition is available digitally still after the Taiwan Design Expo on the website of the Goethe Institute at www.goethe.de/taipei. |
