Bauhaus 4.0
Bauhaus 4.0 meets Typography & Web Design
On the occasion of the Bauhaus anniversary the German Design Day starts the series "Bauhaus 4.0 - Future is made of design". In a total of ten panel discussions, ideas for the design of a future worth living will be collected. In each case three to four top creative people with very different fields of activity and experience will ask themselves questions such as: How can we use the utopian potential of the Bauhaus not only to react to social developments, but to actively shape them ourselves? How can we learn from the most sustainable design school in history?
The tenth panel discussion will take place in Queis/Leipzig/Halle. The topic:
»Bauhaus 4.0 meets Typography & Web Design: Universal and integrative - in search of the interface of tomorrow«
Among others with Sabina Sieghart, specialist for the design of media in simple language, as well as Berlin corporate designer Florian Adler.

Transforming People & Places: Urban Mobility
How Shall We Move Tomorrow?
Transforming People & Places - The new joint series of IDZ and Archimedes Exhibitions creates space for exchange and discussion between the designers and inhabitants of our city.
The first event in the series deals with urban mobility: from urban design and smart mobility to sharing, participation and climate change. We want to discuss which changes are coming up to us and which are also necessary. Can design influence people's attitudes? How can we make Berlin a better place to live? What innovative mobility concepts are there - and what is missing? And how do we redivide urban space if we focus on people and the environment?
Together with experts* on sustainable urban development and mobility, we initiate an active exchange with guests and experts:
- Leopold Fellinger, Chief Creative Officer Digital Department, Porsche Austria
- Theresa Kalmer, Urban Catalyst Studio
- Dr. Nadine Kuhla von Bergmann, Founder and Managing Director, Creative Climate Cities
- Simon Wöhr, cultural manager for urban development and co-initiator, Radbahn Berlin

Hybrid Design - Augmented Reality for Designers
Augmented Reality enables interaction with virtual content in analog space. Computer-generated elements such as 3D models or animations are projected into the tangible world via a mobile device and activated there. The result is a hybrid design in which analog and virtual elements can be combined. This form of mixed reality also offers great potential for the presentation of virtual models and designs.
In cooperation with IDZ and with the Cluster of Excellence Matters of Activity.Image Space Material, the EU-funded AURORA School for ARtists is holding a one-day workshop on augmented reality for designers. The course will take place at Sophienstraße 22a in Berlin-Mitte and is free of charge apart from €20 for catering.
