Beate Woehrle drives transformation in healthcare, a field she has been rooted in for many years. After completing her Master’s degree at the Royal College of Art in London, she worked freelance for many years with international companies. Her product developments have received multiple international design awards.

Her special ability to connect things that at first glance don’t seem to belong together is now applied in combining creativity and healthcare: studies at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) in creativity research, creative coaching, and adult education in the arts and design led to her Master’s thesis “Future Capital Creativity – New Qualities and Yields in Healthcare”. Creativity skills have so far been largely overlooked in the education and training of healthcare professionals. Beate Woehrle sees in this a major – and as yet untapped – resource for the entire healthcare sector, one that can significantly ease the burden on both employees and those receiving care.

She conducts research and teaches at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences, Institute of Public Health (ZHAW/IPH) and at the University Hospital Zurich (USZ), and is also engaged as a workshop leader and speaker.
